Alexa Weir: Embodied Explorations
Wednesday, Oct 5 2011
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

A series of workshops held over four dates: October 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.

How do we experience ourselves? This class uses Body-Mind Centering principles and yoga philosophy as a way to sense/ feel consciousness in the different systems of our bodies. Guided by the map of our own anatomy, we will explore movement/ stillness/ being, and discover relationships between our inner and outer worlds. Concepts of Time, Space and Self will be explored and unique histories uncovered through embodiment of embryological and developmental processes.

Alexa Weir did some dancing in New York before relocating to Los Angeles. She has a BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch. Alexa has completed the “Embodied Anatomy and Yoga” program through the School for Body-Mind Centering, and “Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga” with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen and Amy Matthews.
