“Everything we are is engaged here. We have only to let it in.”*
A workshop for dancers and non-dancers who are interested in strengthening their intuition, finding playfulness in their movements, and developing a stronger sense of self. Whether being used for self-development or gathering choreographic material, the practice of Authentic Movement has the potential to allow for deeper unconscious material to come forward in a very safe, body-centered, and empowering way in the context of relationship between mover and witness.
Rikki Rothenberg is a visual & performance artist and a psychotherapist. Rothenberg earned her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and her MA in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Rothenberg has practiced Authentic Movement for over a decade. Most recently her work was supported by a residency at PAM in Los Angeles, where she presented her show, Divinjnowshoe.
