A book party celebrating the publication of the speculative memoir BLACK WAVE by Michelle Tea, with reading from the book, Los Angeles stories and apocalyptic tales by Tara Jepsen,Ali Liebegott , Ann Friedman, Nikki Darling, Sarah Gertrude Shapiro, Peggy Noland and Michelle Tea.
Tara Jepsen is a writer and performer and skateboarder. She is the author of the forthcoming novel Like a Dog (Sister Spit books/City Lights), and co-creator, with Beth Lisick, of Rods & Cones.
Ali Liebegott is the author of novels and poetry, most recently Cha-Ching! (Sister Spit/City Lights). She writes for the television show Transparent.
Nikki Darling is an artist, zine-maker, tarot reader and writer. Her recently completed novel, Fade Into You, is a memoir of mixed-race identity in the San Gabriel Valley in the 1990s.
Sarah Gertrude Shapiro is a writer and a director. She is the creator of the award-winning television show UnREAL.
Peggy Noland is a fashion designer, visual artist and culture creator. She makes clothes for The Gossip and Sia and you can by her stuff at Wacky Wacko/Peggy Noland in Hollywood.
Ann Friedman is a writer, critic and cultural commentator. She is co-host of the Call Your Girlfriend podcast and creator of The Ann Friedman Weekly newsletter.
Michelle Tea has written many books of fiction and memoir. Black Wave is her latest.
