March 18: Afro-Brazilian Dance with Vera Passos

We are thrilled to host one of our favorites, Mestra Vera Passos, coming to us from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Vera will teach a nourishing class dedicated to Dances of the Orixás, exploring their symbology, rhythms, and movements.

Vera Passos is a choreographer, dancer, an educator considered one of Salvador Bahia’s most elegant and eloquent contemporary Afro-Brazilian dancers. Passos has danced for Jorge Silva Dance Company and the acclaimed Bale Folclórico da Bahia touring throughout Brazil, Europe, Asia, the US and South America for ten years. She is the protégé of Rosangela Silvestre, and has taught the Silvestre technique since 2002 in Salvador and throughout the world. She is the Associate Artistic Director for Viver Brasil Dance Company, and has recently launched her business creative space in Bahia, Casa de Cultura SoMovimento (@ccsomovimento).

(Can’t make it to class live? Register anyway! You will receive a video recording of class so you can dance when works for you!)
