April 8: Samba Reggae with Rachel Hernandez

We are thrilled to host one of our very own Dancing Diaspora Collective members, Mestra Rachel Hernandez! Rachel will be teaching a juicy, fun, sweaty, and high energy Samba Reggae dance class with Afro Bloco music. Samba Reggae is the movement of Black Brazilians that developed Carnaval parade music, rising from the Black Pride Movement born out of Salvador, Bahia. Bora dançar pessoal!

Rachel Hernandez is a dancer, performer, and choreographer skilled in Afro-Brazilian dance, Modern dance, and Ballet. She has developed her signature Afro-Brazilian dance classes and Extra Ancestral Workshops over the last ten years, and teaches throughout Los Angeles County. She currently choreographs the dance component of Extra Ancestral and plays percussion with Bloco Obini.

(Can’t make it to class live? Register anyway! You will receive a video recording of class so you can dance when works for you!)
