Fred Schmidt-Arenales: Albatross
February 28, 8:30pm

Performance text by Sarah Mendelsohn and Fred Schmidt-Arenales
Read by Matthew Doyle, Emily Jane Rosen, and Mallory Wedding

Directed by Fred Schmidt-Arenales

“They live in a mid-sized town in southern California. You might assume it’s a conservative town. But upon spending time with them, you realize that if that’s where they are, they are not of this place. Two’s pregnancy is not a conservative pregnancy, so to speak. And M isn’t living here because she lacks imagination.”

Sarah Mendelsohn is an artist currently living in Vienna. Fred Schmidt-Arenales is an artist currently living in Los Angeles. They work collaboratively and independently on performances, drawings, objects, events, dance, and other writing. This reading is the first presentation of a project they are developing for radio.
