Move Yourself with Ease: An Introduction to the Psoas

Come be moved by the psoas, the body’s vital messenger. Discover new pathways of movement, and bring ease to your whole self.

In this 3-hour workshop we will study breath, skeletal support, bio-intelligence, neural connections, and of course, the deepest muscle layer of our center, the iliiopsoas.

Please bring a comfortable blanket, a journal, and an open-mind.

About the Teacher:
Allison is a Los Angeles-based yoga teacher, who draws upon over two decades of experience. She is committed to the healing qualities of movement. In her classes, she places emphasis on postural awareness and the art of slowing down. She leads a nurturing practice that fuses functional anatomy with spiritual principles. Her teaching is designed to help students cultivate inner strength and poise.

Allison received a BFA in Dance Performance from Ohio State University. In 2001, she moved to New York City and performed with numerous modern dance companies, while also studying dance therapy at NYU. After suffering a serious injury, Allison discovered yoga as a pathway to healing. Since then, Allison has devoted her life to helping others overcome their pain. In 2004, Allison was certified as a teacher under the supervision of Jonathan FitzGordon at the Yoga Center of Brooklyn.

Currently, Allison is receiving certification through the Feldenkrais Institute of San Diego.
