Saturday Sessions: LA Love - Qigong & Community Acupuncture

Description:

An afternoon of Qigong and community acupuncture. This event will begin together with a short Qigong session of breathing, movement and visualization. Qigong will be followed by ear acupuncture using the NADA Protocol for stress, anxiety, PTSD, detox, and more.

* This clinic is intended for the Queer & Trans community, Immigrants, the BIPOC community , and those who normally cannot access these services.

What to expect/what to bring: 

Doors Open - 1:15PM; QiGong - 1:30PM to 2:00PM; NADA Protocol Acupuncture - 2:00PM to 3:00PM

Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and make sure to eat a good meal beforehand!

This is a masked event. Masks will be available to you upon arrival or come with your own!

All of the qigong practices can be done sitting or standing. If you need any further accommodations during qigong or acupuncture, please let us know!

Facilitator bio:

Paolo Flores Chico (they/he) is a queer and trans Filipino acupuncturist that enjoys floating in water and hanging out with their dog Francisco. Paolo is excited to share the endless benefits of Chinese Medicine with you. Core to their practice and values, Paolo finds it integral to both listen and meet people where they are. He sees each client as their own best expert, and is excited to support you. Paolo is popular amongst those who are nervous about needles and patients who are generally reluctant. Paolo specializes in PTSD, trauma, acute & chronic pain, pelvic floor health, and medical qigong.

Accessibility note: The space is located on the 2nd floor with one flight of stairs directly up from the entrance. Elevator access is available; please email pieterrentals@gmail.com prior to the event if you will need to use it. The elevator is spacious enough for any mobility device and the 2nd floor space is free of any steps or mobility barriers. There are no automated doors in the building.

There are two all-gender restrooms with three private stalls and a urinal. Each restroom has one stall accessible for mobility device users.

Parking: Free parking is available directly behind our building at 2412 Workman Street. There is an additional city lot south of Broadway on Workman Street. There is also ample metered parking in the neighborhood.
