Paid parking is available directly behind the building at 2412 Workman Street. There are two additional city lots south of Broadway on Workman Street.

Metered parking spaces throughout the neighborhood.

Please refer to the Appointment Reminder email you receive 24 hours before your rental booking for general access information and codes to the building and studio.

If you were given access to the Green Room, the code to the lockbox that holds the key to the Green Room will have been sent to you via a separate email. This lockbox code will not be in your Appointment Reminder email and will come directly from the Studio, Operations Director.

This lockbox contains the key to the Pieter Office (“Green Room”) and a hex key for the front door and can be found on the wall just inside the front door.

This lockbox is intended for Pieter staff use & Special Event renter use only. Do not give out this code to anyone.

You will only be given the code to this lockbox if you have paid for use of the Green Room or need access to additional equipment (microphone, mic stand, etc.)

Please always lock the door to the office and return these keys to the lockbox at the end of every rental. Do not take these keys with you or leave them anywhere else in the studio or “Green Room”.

Feel free to use the hex key on the front door to keep it unlocked, even if it is closed. This is recommended if you intend to have guests arriving in the evening, as we suggest you keep the door closed once it gets dark.

Always remember to release the front door lock with the hex key at the end of your rental. If this is forgotten, the front door will be left unlocked when you exit the building.

Please do not remove any furniture or supplies from the Green Room.You are more than welcome to use the mini-fridge in the Green Room, as long as all items are removed at the end of your rental. Any items left in the mini-fridge will be thrown away.

Please do not allow anyone that is not directly involved with your rental into the Green Room.

Please do not access the closet or any other drawers/filing cabinets in the Green Room. These are for Pieter staff use only and do not contain any supplies for renter use.

Feel free to use the fan or space heater located in the Green Room. Turn off and unplug both when you are finished.

At the end of your rental, please lock the Green Room door by pressing the lock button on the inside door handle before closing the door.

Pieter is equipped with two ADA compliant gender neutral restrooms!

Please ensure that the bathrooms are stocked and tidy at the end of your rental. This means checking that toilet paper dispensers and paper towel dispensers are stocked.

Extra toilet paper is located in each stall. Extra paper towels can be found in the bathroom closet in the bathroom closest to the APAIT offices. Additional stock can be found in the hall utility closet by the side studio doors.

Please ensure that bathroom doors stay closed during your rental and are closed before you leave.

Please remind your guests to only flush toilet paper down the toilets as flushing anything else can cause a severe blockage.

Please do not move any props out of the studio. You are welcome to move studio props around the space as you need.

Extra cords, lights, pillows, blankets, a dust mop, 2 four foot folding tables & an A-Frame chalk board are available in the studio closet for your use.

Please ensure all supplies are returned to their spots at the end of your rental.

The breaker box for the studio is located in the studio closet.

Please do not affix anything to the walls or windows in the studio. This includes with nails or tacks.

As with all rentals, you are more than welcome to allow your guests to utilize our water tower.

Please switch out empty water jugs and leave them on the water jug rack. We do not provide cups. You are more than welcome to bring your own or use reusable water bottles (recommended).

You are more than welcome to open and keep open the Emergency Door located at the end of the back hallway. Please ensure the mesh screen is always closed to keep bugs out of the building. Please make sure this door is closed before the end of your rental.

Please do not forget to fill out a Renter Checklist at the end of your rental to ensure the space has been closed properly.

If you find there are no Renter Checklists available please use the Digital Renter Checklist at the end of your rental.

Food is permitted in the studio but please: empty the trash and recycling at the end of each rental to ensure there are no food-related smells in the studio for you or for future renters.

Should there be any minor spills or cleanups necessary in the space, cleaning products are available in the utility closet of the side hallway. Please return all cleaning supplies to the closet.

PLEASE DO NOT MOP THE FLOORS.

Trash should be taken to the dumpsters, which are located out the emergency exit and down the fire escape steps.

Please only put trash in the black bin and recycling in the blue bin; do not put trash in the recycling bin.

If you plan to have catered food and think this will produce a decent amount of trash, please consider bringing additional trash cans.

If you have been given permission to store belongings in the studio and/or Green Room overnight, please ensure your belongings are ONLY LEFT IN THE STUDIO AND/OR GREEN ROOM and not in the hallways or bathrooms.

We are not responsible for belongings left in the space overnight and keeping an inventory of all of your belongings is highly recommended.

Pieter renters are not permitted to rent or enter the APAIT or Gender Justice LA offices as these are not a part of Pieter Performance Space. Please do not attempt to enter these spaces or use any supplies that are labeled as belonging to APAIT or GJLA.

Pieter renters are not permitted to go to the third floor. Please note: third floor renters are not connected to Pieter Performance Space, but they do use the elevator to access the third floor and may or may not be in the building during your rental.

Below Pieter Performance Space is Public Estrellas, a community thrift store. They are open from 10AM until 6PM, 7 days a week. The sound from the store below can sometimes be heard through the floors on the 2nd floor but it is not overpowering and shouldn’t get in the way of your event.

It is very important that you adhere to your appointment rental in and out time.

You are not permitted to begin setting up in the studio before your allotted start time and you are not permitted to take extra time to clean up; setup and breakdown should be included in your time slot.

Please ensure you are out of the studio at your appointed time and the studio and bathrooms are generally tidy and stocked in the event another renter is scheduled after you.
