Pieterlates Party!!!! is a once a monthly community gathering where you are invited to give your body what it needs!
Devika will facilitate Pilates core strengthening principles, energetics and somatics.
Pieterlates Party!!!! is a place to hang, connect, tune in, and reset!
What to expect/what to bring:
Water is provided on site, but please bring your own bottle!
While there are a limited number of mats available at Pieter, attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and to wear comfortable clothing!
While this is not a masked event, masks will be available to you upon arrival or you can bring your own!
Facilitator bio:
Devika Wickremesinghe (she/they) is a performer, dancer person, artist, and teacher. With nearly 20 years experience as a Pilates facilitator, Devika first offered Pieterlates in 2015 as a community gathering space that was equal parts core strengthening and community strengthening. Devika believes that Pilates should be accesible to all, and the form carries the building blocks to give every body a place to connect with their inner strength.
Devika is certified through the Kane School of Core Integration, a program that integrates Classical Pilates Method with sound biomechanical principles and focus on injury prevention.
Accessibility note:
The space is located on the 2nd floor with one flight of stairs directly up from the entrance. Elevator access is available; please email pieterrentals@gmail.com prior to the event if you will need to use it.
The elevator is spacious enough for any mobility device and the 2nd floor space is free of any steps or mobility barriers. There are no automated doors in the building. If you will need the elevator, please email pieterrentals@gmail.com after you register!
There are two all-gender restrooms with three private stalls and a urinal. Each restroom has one stall accessible for mobility device users.
Parking:
Paid parking is available directly behind our building at 2412 Workman Street. There is an additional city lot south of Broadway on Workman Street. There is also ample metered parking in the neighborhood.
